When and where do we meet?

How can I join?

Visit the home page of this site and join our mailing list. You will get email reminders for meetings and announcements.

Participation is entirely free, and you may attend or not attend however you choose. You can choose which level you will attend without contacting the teacher. No further paperwork or communication with Magic Math is required.

How are classes run?
03

Every Sunday, there are two levels. Don't worry if you are unsure which level is appropriate. You can use your first session to decide which level is best for you. You can also ask instructors for advice. It is very easy to switch sessions in the future. If you have any questions, you can contact magicmathplano@gmail.com

As an estimate, Level 1 will focus on AMC 8/AMC 10/Mathcounts and Level 2 will focus on AMC 10/AMC 12/AIME qualifications.

Class will be a mix of lectures, problem-solving, and friendly competition. We encourage members to share ideas and solve questions as a class. Members are free to present their own solutions or bring questions from outside of classes. Classes will be on Zoom with Google Classroom for communication and resources. Join the mailing list for more information!

04
What resources should I use to do well on math contests?

See here. Essentially, there is no magic resource: just do problems, read handouts you find interesting, and learn from them correctly (for example, always try a problem seriously before reading the solution, etc.)

Here are some more options that might be helpful:

Art of Problem Solving-a very popular online forum for math problems and contests. The wiki and community have compiled a large amount of problems from everything from regional contests to national olympiads to the IMO.
